Achieve the Look of Oil Based Finish with the Safety and Ease of a Waterborne Sealer
(HARDWICK, VERMONT)—Vermont Natural Coatings, in partnership with Norton Abrasives, launches Amber Sealer as the latest addition to its co-branded line of PolyWhey® Professional Wood Floor products. PolyWhey Amber Sealer uses the strength of whey protein, a byproduct of cheesemaking, to create a natural oil-tone waterborne sealer for hardwood floors.
“Amber Sealer is an exciting addition to the Norton Abrasives | Vermont Natural Coatings line because it allows professional flooring contractors to achieve the look oil-based finishes offer without sacrificing the safety and health of their employees or their clients,” says Andrew Meyer, President of Vermont Natural Coatings.
Amber Sealer can be applied over bare or prefinished wood and dries in less than two hours. It is easy to apply, sands effortlessly and minimizes grain raise and tannin pull. Followed by two to three coats of PolyWhey 2500 or 3500 Wood Floor Finish, the end result is an oil-look floor with outstanding resistance to all forms of wear.
“The Amber Sealer is an important addition to the Norton|Vermont Natural Coatings product offering because it provides the rich look of an oil-modified finish without any of the harsh elements of an oil-modified product. After extensive in-field testing we are quite pleased with the tone and color achieved with just one coat of the sealer. You can also build on that color by applying multiple coats to get a more customized look.
