As Vermont begins to warm and another season gets underway, we’ve been reflecting on one of our favorite projects from last year: helping protect the historic Brookfield Floating Bridge on Sunset Lake.
Back on November 6, 2025, the bridge officially closed for the winter after another busy season welcoming neighbors, visitors, cyclists, photographers, and travelers from across Vermont and beyond. For many, the Floating Bridge is more than a crossing — it’s a tradition, a landmark, and one of those uniquely Vermont places that invites people to slow down and appreciate the view.
We were honored that Vermont Natural Coatings’ Penetrating Waterproofer with Juniper was selected to help protect the bridge’s wood surfaces. Designed to stand up to harsh New England weather, the coating helps defend against moisture while preserving the natural beauty of the wood with a safer, Vermont-made solution.
Supporting projects like the Brookfield Floating Bridge reflects what matters most to us: helping preserve the places that connect communities and celebrate Vermont craftsmanship. Seeing our products used on such an iconic structure was a meaningful reminder of how local innovation can help protect local history.
As the bridge prepares to float again for another season, we’re proud to look back on its 2025 season and our small role in helping keep this treasured landmark beautiful for years to come.
